In an inspiring display of compassion, unity and academic social responsibility, Pharmacy Deptt , Abbottabad University of Science & Technology, organized a Blood Donation Camp under the supervision of Dr Mudassar Shah, AP, Pharmacy. The event was sponsored by Jamila Sultana Foundation, Islamabad and the Blood Heroes, KP. Dr Khalid Mehmood, Chairman Pharmacy and Mr Iftikhar Hussain, Registrar visited the camp and analysed the activity. Eighty Five( 85) bags of blood were donated during the long-day activity while hunderd of eager volunteers were waitlisted due to time constraints. What made this event even more momentous was that it was the first sacrificial academic and humanitarian initiative held in HONOR of the newly appointed Vice Chancellor, Prof Dr Tahir I Khan.The event served as a collective pledge from students, faculty and staff to sacrifice personal comfort for the collective benefit of the University and the humanity. Today, heart- touching scenes unfolded as young AUSTIANS rolled up their sleeves , offered smiles, and gave part of themselves to save unknown lives.
Dr Akhtar Iqbal read out special message of the Vice Chancellor, who conveyed profound thanks to all the organizers, volunteers,and the sponsoring bodies for enabling this life- saving mission.
