Prof. Dr. Tahir Irfan Khan Takes Charge as Vice Chancellor of AUST

Prof. Dr. Tahir Irfan Khan has officially assumed the charge as the Vice Chancellor of Abbottabad University of Science and Technology (AUST). Before this appointment, he was serving at the University of Bradford in the United Kingdom.

Upon his arrival at the university, Prof. Dr. Tahir Irfan Khan received a warm and historic welcome. The ceremony was attended by Registrar Mr. Iftikhar Hussain, Director of Administration Mr. Ajmal Khan, chairpersons of various departments, faculty members, Director of the Youth Development Center Mr. Qazi Khurram Shehzad, Dr. Hassan Jahangiri, student society members, and a large number of students. Dr. Khan was greeted with flower bouquets, and a grand parade was held by the university’s security force accompanied by a military band.

Distinguished guests and local dignitaries also participated in the event and praised the university administration for organizing such a memorable reception. During the ceremony, official documents of the Vice Chancellor’s charge were signed between Prof. Dr. Tahir Irfan Khan and Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Malik Mujaddid-ur-Rehman.

To honor the occasion, a special cake-cutting ceremony was held by the Youth Development Center, joined by students, faculty heads, and Registrar Mr. Iftikhar Hussain. During the speeches, Mr. Iftikhar Hussain and Mr. Faheem Zaib Khan welcomed Dr. Khan and expressed their commitment to work together for the university’s growth and the bright future of its students.

In his address, Prof. Dr. Tahir Irfan Khan expressed deep gratitude for the heartfelt welcome and shared his joy on being appointed as Vice Chancellor of AUST for the second time. He prayed for the continued success and prosperity of the university and emphasized the importance of working together for progress.

He added that educational institutions and talented students are the backbone of national development. He further assured that all possible resources will be utilized to provide modern and quality education to the students of AUST. He emphasized that his return from Bradford University to serve again at AUST reflects his dedication to the service of Pakistan and its people.

The ceremony concluded with a special prayer by Dr. Saad Jafar for the peace, progress, and prosperity of the country and the university. Finally, Registrar Mr. Iftikhar Hussain thanked all participants for attending the event and making it a memorable occasion.
